SAVANNAH, Ga. — There was no Windsor Forest Alumni Collective in October 2025. No bank account, no 501(c)(3) letter, no board with titles. There was a handful of alumni with an idea and their own money, betting that a school that graduated its classes decades apart still had something to gather around.
The bet was a weekend. Three events, back to back.
It started where Windsor Forest starts every fall — the stands, at homecoming. Alumni turned out for the football game in numbers the organizers hadn't tried to predict. That evening moved to Rachael's on the Southside for a networking social, alumni from classes that never overlapped in a hallway now sharing a room. The weekend closed with a tailgate cookout — tents up, music on, a grill going, no program to follow.
None of it was funded by anything but the founders' own pockets. There was no organization yet to write a check.

What showed up was graduating classes from 1988 to present in one weekend, from one school. Total attendance passed 600.
It was not a polished launch. It was alumni finding out, in real time, that the room wouldn't stay empty. Everything that came after — the scholarship in December, the second weekend in February, incorporation in March — traces back to a weekend nobody was paid to organize.
